An amateur society is rehearsing in their small theatre at the end of a pier. A storm rages overhead and the doors are locked - they are trapped! A ghostly figure passes across the stage and, shortly afterwards, the Assistant Stage Manager falls to his death through a trap door. The rest of the company is thrown into disarray and, when one of their number is poisoned, it becomes apparent that there is a murderer in their midst.
