This production was our entry in the Kent Drama Association's 2008 Full-Length
Play Festival.
Steve Berry won the award for 'Best Actor in a Supporting Role' for his portrayal of
Private Frazer.
The Society received runners-up certificates in the following categories:
'Achievement in Wardrobe',
'Most Effective Use of Limited Space (the Alan Birch Award)',
'Initiative in Stage Presentation',
'Best Newcomer' (for Simon King's portrayal of Private Pike)
The production recreates three episodes and an additional scene from the popular TV series
"The Deadly Attachment"
The Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard platoon has to guard a captured U-boat crew.
But the fearless Captain Mainwaring incurs German displeasure when he orders
the defiant prisoners to be served soggy fish and chips.

The Home Guard are recruiting women. However, Mrs Mainwaring has not left the
house since Münich so she will not be joining her husband's platoon. So when
a newcomer with a touch of class, Mrs Gray, joins the platoon, Captain
Mainwaring sets tongues wagging with a brief encounter.

"The Godiva Affair"
The platoon are rehearsing their Morris dancing routine as part of a fund-
raising carnival parade which will include a ride past by Lady Godiva.
After a heated selection process, Captain Mainwaring has a nasty surprise
when there is a last minute substitution for Godiva.
