This Norwegian folk tale tells of Peer Gynt, a hapless and vain dreamer. Spurned by his exasperated mother and shunned by the other villagers for his continual stories, Peer travels the world and leaves behind his one true love, Solveig. On his travels he encounters trolls and other magical beings, makes his fortune and loses it, before finally returning home to the waiting Solveig. Was it real or another of his fantastic dreams?
